Designblok is an international exhibition of new developments in Czech and international design, which was founded in 1999 and is held in the most important shops and galleries in Prague. The centre of the exhibition is situated within the Designblok Superstudios, located in Prague in buildings with exceptional architecture, where producers and designers from all around the world present special installations within an area of more than 10,000 m2. Designblok also traditionally presents fashion and Designblok Fashion Week, which presents top Czech and foreign fashion designers, is an integral part of the whole Designblok experience.
The 14th Designblok will be held from 1st to 7th October, 2012.
This year, Designblok with the subtitle Prague Design and Fashion Week will take place in several palaces and historical locations in the centre of Prague. Superstudios will be situated in the Clam-Gallas Palace on Husova street in the Old Town, Kafka’s House in Franz Kafka Square, as well as the Old Town Square. The Superstudios are primarily designated for company presentations. Designer presentations will be located in the newly created Openstudio in the Renaissance premises of the Matinický Palace on Hradčanské square. The Openstudio will serve as a design lab and presentation space for designers, schools, and fashion designers. Jewelry presentations and installation will have an entire hall.
