Gallery in Prague. Their exhibition, Light Infusion, combines the industrial design of the Olgoj Chorchoj studio (led by Michal Froněk and Jan Němeček) with the signature visual style of artist Jiří Černický. The exhibition mixes individual art installations made up of various products and their constituent parts with different media. These elements serve to create an extraordinary lighting installation, which feeds in to the exhibition’s conceptual analysis of the phenomenon of lighting, at once industrial, striking and tender. Olgoj Chorchoj’s fluorescent tubes, which the studio’s designers often make use of in their interior designs, serve as an impressive leitmotif. These tubes can mingle with candles and light bulbs adrift in space, or just as easily interfere with the gallery’s brickwork, providing a space for permanent art and design interventions. The exhibition runs until January 29th, 2015.
