Designed by renowned designer Ineke Hans for the Czech brand Křehký, this fascinating collection of crystal glass sculptures and bowls – featuring bright yellow Toadstools which look as if they’ve been plucked from a bizarre forest – reveals the most striking features of the Dutch designer’s sense of humor and poetic nature, which feeds into how she perceives the places and designs that influence her bespoke products. The Toadstools were blown under Ineke Hans’ supervision in the glass factory owned by Bořek Šípek in Nový Bor. This location is really symbolic – not only for the tradition of mushroom-picking in the Lužické hory region but also for Bořek Šípek, who left a huge impression on Ineke Hans when she was studying and working in Holland. “We are surrounded with so many objects,” Hans reveals in an interview for Blok magazine. “I decided that if I was to add one more, I would need it to represent something much more than a table.” The Toadstools perfectly demonstrate her philosophy. If you didn’t get a chance to see Ineke Hans’ Toadstools at their special Designblok installation premiere, the first pieces are already on sale in our Qubus + Křehký flagship store on Rámová Street 3 in the Old Town, Prague 1.
