Pola Wislicz is a womenswear and textile designer. Inspired by vintage fashion, contemporary art, and the multifaceted experience of womanhood and queerness, her work aims to explore the tension between beauty and strangeness. An important part of the work is textile design, with particular focus on hand embroidery and the use of unconventional materials. She works mostly with natural fabrics, such as silk, cotton and wool, as well as antique lace and trimmings, using layering and transparency to create ephemeral textile compositions.
