The Design(Blok) Lovers platform connects design enthusiasts with creators. Our mission is to keep the conversation about design going year-round, not just during the festival—whether through film screenings, sports, or casual beers with designers. Because our community never sleeps, we naturally can’t miss DesignBlok itself, where we will present two special events this year.
AZ-kvíz on the Road to DesignBlok
Right on the opening day of this year’s DesignBlok, the newly reconstructed Industrial Palace will come alive with an unconventional format. Design(Blok) Lovers is bringing the legendary TV show AZ-kvíz in a special festival edition. Themed questions will test knowledge of Czech and international design, architecture, and the 28th edition of DesignBlok, centered around the theme of Light.
Familiar faces from the Czech creative scene will take the stage: Michal Froněk (Olgoj Chorchoj) and Jan Rosický (A69), Michaela Kádnerová and Kateřina Handlová, Kristýna Mikolášková and Tereza Drobná, Michaela Tomišková and Jakub Janďourek (Dechem), alongside Zuzana Lednická and Petr Babák. The competition evening will be hosted by the iconic presenter Aleš Zbořil. In addition to the four main rounds, audience members will also get the chance to participate and compete.

Run with Designers & Sauna with What a Hut
On Sunday, October 11 at 9:00 AM, we’re heading out for another community run, this time featuring meetups with exhibiting designers. The 5 km loop through Stromovka park will kick off in front of the Trade Fair Palace (Veletržní palác, NGP). Along the route, you’ll have a unique opportunity to chat with creators about their work, discuss this year’s festival installations, and make new connections. The run will also include a stop at the Industrial Palace for a guided tour of the spaces reopened to visitors after years of reconstruction specifically for the 28th edition of DesignBlok.
At the finish line, refreshments by Vilgain will be ready to recharge every runner’s energy. Afterwards, enjoy well-deserved relaxation in a Finnish sauna by What a Hut, fully equipped with changing facilities and set up right on the outdoor piazza in front of the National Gallery.
