Bodo Sperlein presents his first Prague exhibition during Designblok 2026, taking over the 1940 Czech Modernism Pavilion in the Museum of Decorative Arts gardens. The show spans furniture, lighting, porcelain, textiles, rugs and concrete, with collaborators Lobmeyr, Meissen, GAN and Coordonné alongside new work with Czech manufacturer Gravelli.
At its centre is a sculptural column made from Sperlein’s Cascade paving stones, reimagined at architectural scale and inspired by Emil Králíček’s 1912 Cubist lamppost on Jungmann Square. Lighting is key, with Script and Orchid pieces made with Lobmeyr, plus Meissen porcelain, GAN rugs, Coordonné textiles and Contourline furniture.
The portfolio-style show reveals a practice moving fluidly between materials, in dialogue with Prague’s heritage.
