Furniture and Interior Design Studio – FDA UWB Touch and Sound

  • Openstudio (designers and studios)

Touch and Sound is a collective exhibition by the Furniture and Interior Design Studio of the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art. It explores the embodied experience of materials through touch and vision, highlighting their tactile qualities and unexpected visual character. The projects focus on material transformation, experimentation, and the use of alternative materials in real-life contexts. Through material-based thinking, acoustic testing, and microscopic analysis, students investigate new relationships between materials and their properties. The exhibition invites visitors to engage by touching, listening, and discovering new meanings. Most samples were acoustically tested in the RICE laboratory, while selected materials were analyzed using SEM microscopy at NTC UWB.
