STU Bratislava Parallels of Knowledge

  • Openstudio (designers and studios)

Light without shadow is invisible, without form and depth. True vision begins where light encounters an obstacle and darkness becomes its definition. The project contemplates how light shapes our relationship with reality in the contemporary world. Drawing upon Plato’s allegory of the cave, we perceive illumination as an act of cognition – true knowledge does not begin with sight, but with the ability to acknowledge the existence of shadow. The exhibition of student works is part of the anniversary of the Faculty of Architecture and Design in Bratislava: 80 years of architectural education and 50 years since the faculty’s establishment. Exhibition design: F. Maukš. Curators: P. Huraiová, P. Mazalán.
