Zoltán Tóth ; Viktor R. Zbořil REFLECTIONS OF THE NIGHT

A globally unique mineralogical find of ‘black diamonds’ became the main inspiration for the collaboration between fashion designer Zoltán Tóth and jeweller Viktor Zbořil. On one of their joint expeditions in search of precious stones across the Czech countryside, they made an almost unbelievable discovery. Using a tailor’s magnet, they ‘fished’ dozens of pieces of the rare – and for jewellers now practically unobtainable – Czech gemstone Iserín from the River Jizera. Its specific properties and appearance shaped not only the character of the silver jewellery into which V. Zbořil set it (and other Czech gemstones), but also three dress designs by Z. Tóth. Together, they express the otherwise elusive motif of the night and its reflections, woven into the overall concept of the exhibition.
