Zuzana Basterrech Horizons

The Horizons collection of pendant lights transforms the archetype of the glowing sphere into an organic mass of light. The object combines a sense of safety, calm and orientation with the changing landscape. The textured surface of hand-blown opal glass draws on horizons and natural formations shaped by time. Its peaks catch the light, creating a play of brightness and shadow, much like the sun shaping the landscape at sunrise and sunset. As light and viewing angle change, so does the landscape embedded in its surface. A modular system of fittings and suspensions allows for different configurations. As the primary light source, Horizons creates soft, diffused light throughout the space. Developed in collaboration with glass technologist Irena Czepová.
