Blanka Němcová is an artist who explores the field of ceramics. Each object is born slowly and is hand crafted using ancient techniques. These methods imbue every form with its own entirely unique volume, breath, and rhythm. The dialogue between the artist and the clay is both a conscious and intuitive journey toward discovering its unique visual language. The surfaces emerge from a quiet conversation in which the artist allows traces of fire, the textures of natural materials and hues of stones she collects during walks in the landscape. These elements then complete the form, articulate it, and allow it to resound fully. Each of these objects endures the vast memory of the earth and the subtle layering of temporalities. The vessels invite us to pause, to touch and engage in slow contemplation.
