BEACON, a monumental lighting installation reminiscent of a grand chandelier, was conceived by British designer Lee Broom and brought to life by BROKIS. In Prague, it stands before the Rudolfinum, engaging with the architecture of Jan Palach Square, one of the city’s most important cultural places. BEACON debuted at London Design Festival 2025 and then appeared at Piazza San Babila in central Milan during Milan Design Week 2026. The installation comprises 292 BROKISGLASS segments made from recycled glass shards from Janštejn Glassworks. A unique fusion and slumping process gives rise to a distinctive texture resembling wood grain. The concept draws inspiration from brutalist London’s South Bank architecture.
