The diploma collection Funchal reflects the designer’s personal connection to Madeira, memories of life on the island, and the feeling of unexpectedly finding a second home. It draws inspiration from everyday life, Portuguese culture, and the relationship between nature, the city, and the ocean. Fragments of memories are translated into textures, original textile dyeing, and fabric manipulation. The collection combines natural fibers with upcycled maritime materials, particularly sails. It explores chance, transformation, and the transition between old and new through natural dyeing, rust, asymmetry, and wrap forms. The collection becomes a visual diary in which clothing carries memories, movement, and a connection to place.
