Schuroop is inspired by a childhood memory of sudden rain during the Korean rainy season in rural Yeongwol, and my father instinctively turning to shield me. Rain becomes a metaphor for unexpected moments that require us to respond and adapt. The collection explores instinctive gestures made in the rain – drawing the body inward for protection or quickly covering oneself with clothing or nearby objects. These movements are translated into wide, protective silhouettes and soft, enveloping forms. Transparent fabrics and reflective surfaces evoke the atmosphere of a rainy day. Through material experimentation and silhouette, Schuroop transforms feelings of protection, vulnerability, and spontaneous adaptation into an emotional and tactile experience.
