The installation by designer Jakub Pollág and the zeitgeist.limited studio reflects this year’s Openstudio theme High Craft – honest craftsmanship, material quality, and a transparent production process. It traces a product’s journey from sketch to final piece, showing an uncompromising approach to small-batch manufacturing. Its centerpiece is the Solid Shelfs series – a shelving system in solid oak and tempered glass, handmade in the Czech Republic, CNC-milled and finished with natural oils. It is complemented by pieces from the Steps glass collection – hand-blown crystal, individually numbered, made by Czech glassmakers. The installation also explores time, materials, and environmental impact, featuring footage from the documentary project WITT (Why It Takes Time).
