A book that will make children laugh – and give their parents a fright! A monitor lizard jumps into bed, squirrels nest in a lamp, mice borrow underwear, and a girl dog named Como turns up and becomes part of the family…
Author Martina Schneider Králová and designer Veronika Velčovská Jiroušková ventured from the world of design into tropical nature to create this illustrated book. Martina based the story on her experiences living in a house in Sri Lanka and invited Veronika to create the illustrations – having encountered monitor lizards there herself. Graphic designer Zuzana Lednická, a surfer in the Indian Ocean who also knows the local wildlife well, was then brought on board to design the book. Welcome to the jungle!
The exhibition also features prints of illustrations by Veronika Velčovská Jiroušková, available to purchase alongside the book.
The book is published in both Czech and English. Find us among the books on the first floor of the Prague Castle Riding Hall.
