A beautiful collection, designed with an eye for the environment, featuring a playful twist on knitwear, technical cutting studies, textures, and prints. The emphasis is on tailoring, yet with a distinctive, unique look – so that the wearer feels stronger and more confident, while remaining elegant. Sources of inspiration include prisons, Russia, and the Orthodox Church. The towers of St. Basil’s Cathedral on Red Square in Moscow provided the idea for the twisted sleeves. I was also inspired by pleats in priestly robes, murals, and embroidered vestments. I wanted to adopt the regal appearance and the military fastenings from the era of the Soviet Union and the Tsar. For my accessories, the inspiration came from the belly chains worn by prisoners.
