The installation AROUND THE TABLE explores the table as the centre of human dwelling — a functional object and a symbol of home, community and our relationship with material.
At its heart is a solid oak table made from old trees from floodplain forests. Its carbonised surface highlights the natural structure of the wood and follows the visual language of previous RAP / Michaela Vrbková collections.
Aluminium bowls are based on prototypes formed from bread dough, transforming a symbol of everyday nourishment into a permanent object. Vases and candleholders made from charred oak offcuts complete the installation, turning discarded material into design artefacts.
