Ritual of Return is a glass installation marking the artist’s return to the Trade Fair Palace of the NG after three years, building on her earlier ~1 hour collection project. The glass plates are imprints of the desert landscape of the Naqab (Negev) and the city of Bir al-Sabi’ (Beersheba), the origin of her father’s Bedouin roots. These are places the family cannot physically visit, so glass becomes a carrier of memory, a way to return to a landscape otherwise unreachable. The plates also function as everyday objects, used for dipping bread into za’atar and oil. The project aims to humanize the Palestinian story, not only through pain but through hospitality, a shared table, and the simple act of eating together, because humanity is harder to ignore than politics.
