Martin comes to the Glass Studio at UMPRUM from a background in architecture, which remains a strong influence on his work across the scales of object, space, and building. In his current work with glass, he focuses on reinterpreting familiar and overlooked archetypes. Specifically, the vitrine — a place for collecting, preserving, and presenting to others, where objects of often sentimental value remain untouched behind glass.
