Silky Gang

The new collection from Silky Gang draws inspiration from *The Tale of Genji*, a Japanese novel written by Murasaki Shikibu around 1020. This collection of illustrated scarves, kimonos, and porcelain pieces offers a free interpretation of Japanese aesthetics, extending beyond the Heian period. The flowing kimonos evoke the art of origami, while diagonal cloud motifs add depth and a new dimension to the overall pattern. The scarf and porcelain design symbolizes Prince Genji’s quest for his ideal of romantic love. The symbolism of the changing seasons—representing the immutable passage of time—unifies the collection into a cohesive whole. The campaign photography was shot in Japan, capturing both the streets of Tokyo and the interior of a traditional, century-old Japanese house.
