The exhibition project Inventarium brings together the work of Jakub Berdych Karpelis (1971) and Karel Štědrý (1985), two distinctive figures on the contemporary Czech art and design scene. The iconic Czech Merkur construction set becomes the structural principle of Štědrý’s objects, which are combined with glass components from chandeliers designed by Berdych Karpelis for Artglass. The result is a series of spatial assemblages at the intersection of art and design.
Conceived as a long-term, evolving project, Inventarium allows the objects to form new relationships and take on a different shape with each installation. Following its spring premiere in Milan, the project makes its Czech debut at Designblok.
