For the second time during the international DesignBlok festival, the platform for lectures, discussions, and networking for professionals across various fields will come alive—the DesignBlok Talks conference.
This is a long-term initiative aimed at strengthening the professional dimension of the festival. DesignBlok Talks thus becomes an integral part of Professionals Day and a key pillar of the professional program for the 28th edition of DesignBlok.
The DesignBlok Talks conference was created in response to the need for deeper professional dialogue and the sharing of current topics that shape the present and future of design, architecture, and other related fields. We have created a flagship event that serves as a key meeting and networking point for architects, designers, developers, journalists, curators, and other professionals.
This year, the program is expanding to two days—Tuesday, October 6, 2026, and Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Once again, it will take the form of lectures and moderated discussions featuring leading Czech and international guests. The event will also include space for networking and establishing new professional contacts. DesignBlok Talks is part of Professionals’ Day and includes exclusive presentations of exhibitions by curated brands, companies, and manufacturers, whom visitors will be able to meet in person during the afternoon on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.
Date and time
Tuesday, October 6, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Wednesday, October 7, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Venue
Industrial Palace at Výstaviště
The conference program will be framed by the overarching theme of this year's DesignBlok, which is Light, and will be divided into three thematic blocks.
Tuesday, October 6, 2026, will be dedicated to the "Future of Design" and "Future of Architecture" blocks, while the entire Wednesday program will be filled by the "Future of Living" block. We are preparing all program blocks in collaboration with Dezeen magazine, focusing on current topics in contemporary design, architecture, and urbanism. The Center for Architecture and Metropolitan Planning (CAMP) is also a partner for the architecture section.
On the stage, featuring set design by Marek Cpin, leading figures from both Czech and global architecture and design will engage in discussions: from London arrives the king of architectural minimalism Claudio Silvestrin or the lighting magician Lee Broom, from Rotterdam designer Laurids Gallée, from Scandinavia designer and installation creator Daniel Rybakken as well as journalist, curator, and former director of the Stockholm Furniture Fair Hanna Nova Beatrice, from Paris interior architect Christophe Delcourt, from Milan the director of the Magis brand Alberto Perazza, and from Hong Kong artist and cultural visionary Stanley Wong.
