Hana Zárubová Reunion

  • High Craft

In 1999, while still a student at UMPRUM, Hana Zárubová created a collection titled Virtual Nature. The dress made from transparent IV tubing, with glycerin pulsing through it as the wearer moved, presented an unexpected vision of the intersection between technology and the organic world. The collection was entered into the Smirnoff International Fashion Awards in Hong Kong. It marked her first major success, first collaboration with a manufacturer, first journey abroad, and her entry into the world of fashion. It was the beginning. At DesignBlok 2026, Hana Zárubová unveils a reunion with this dress; same, yet different. This time, the tubing – the kind that saves lives – carries 27 years of experience. How does the same garment transform when an entire lifetime is woven into it?
