DesignBlok Selects

The #DesignBlokSelects platform presents a curated selection of novelties, projects, and inspirations from the world of design, art, and culture prepared by the festival team experts. Highlighted are the exceptional character, excellent craftsmanship and creativity, significant potential, intriguing meanings, and multi-layered qualities of the featured pieces. Through the platform, Designblok keeps engaged in a dialogue with its community throughout the year, not only during the festival.

The selected objects and works are presented primarily in digital environment – on the DesignBlok communication platforms that reach to millions of users across topics and generations. #DesignBlokSelects targets professionals in the fields of design, architecture, and art, as well as culture lovers and the general public. The initiative further covers exclusive content from designers and brands, naturally combining their creative work with the activities and presence at the DesignBlok festival.

Now, for the first time, #DesignBlokSelects enters the physical world at this Selects exhibition, which presents objects worth a closer look. Danica Kovářová, the festival programme manager, is the exhibition curator. The people involved in the curated selection further include Patrik Florián, DesignBlok promotion manager and journalist; Jana Zielinski, the festival director; Helena Novotná, DesignBlok PR manager and journalist, and Štěpán Šuster, digital content manager.

This new addition to the wide range of Designblok’s activities fulfi ls one of its key roles – promoting the field. The platform consistently provides space for remarkable cultural and lifestyle projects, and also to emerging and talented artists.

The exhibition is located on the 5th floor of the Trade Fair Palace – National Gallery Prague.
