DesignBlok Selects: Project

Grand Designer of the Year Jiří Krejčiřík has created a signature piece for the Eyerim optical store

The reigning Grand Designer of the Year at the Czech Grand Design awards, designerJiří Krejčiřík was invited to create a signature furniture piece for the Eyerim eyewear store. The intention was to go beyond mere functionality and design an object with its own emotional presence. Crafted in Eyerim’s signature blue with solid ash wood accents, the piece preserves a warm, handcrafted feel and becomes a core part of the space’s identity.

The concept revolves around individuality and the tension between concealment and expression—just like eyewear, which some use to hide, while others use to stand out. Each sculptural element is unique, reflecting a collection of distinct personalities gathered into one composition. Jiří will once again be part of this year’s DesignBlok, presenting new work as part of the High Craft exhibition at the Prague Castle Riding School.
