DesignBlok Selects: Project

Let there be (designer) light! Dechem Studio reveals the magic of custom-made lighting

Let there be (designer) light! Get inspired by custom lighting designed by Dechem Studio for a residential project. The studio will be featured in the curated High Craft selection at the Prague Castle Riding School during this year’s DesignBlok.

The interior was designed by architecture studio ssia (Petra Sladká & Anna Švehliková) in collaboration with architects Adam Wlazel and Magdalena Roztočilová. For the entrance hall, Dechem Studio created a bespoke light object combining its own upcycled Fragmentglass material with irregular sandstone pieces the owners chose themselves near their home.

Upstairs, a pendant Eclipse chandelier with a brushed brass frame and smoky glass, a wall-mounted variant with a reading light, and a piece from the limited One and Only series in uranium glass complete the space. The bedroom and bathroom are lit by Sphaerae fixtures, with a delicate constellation of permanently sealed air bubbles in blown glass.

The bespoke glass doors were designed by Eliška Monsportová, a connection that began at last year’s DesignBlok.

Come get inspired by these and other designer fixtures at DesignBlok — the festival opens its doors to the public from 7 to 11 October 2026!
