Ceramics between alchemy, imagination, and the transformation of matter. On September 3, the Prague-based gallery KodlContemporary will open the exhibition Between Worlds, bringing together the work of three prominent names in the international ceramics scene: the Italian duo Bertozzi e Casoni and Dutch artists Carolein Smit a Bouke de Vries.
The exhibition explores the historical connection between ceramics and alchemy, demonstrating how contemporary artists are pushing this traditional craft toward themes of transience, destruction, renewal, and human imagination. Curated by Mark Sanders, the show will be open to visitors from September 4 to November 1, 2026.
You will also find KC Éditions, a sister project of KodlContemporary, at this year’s DesignBlok as part of the High Craftexhibition. Studio Atelier Monday will create an immersive installation at the Prague Castle Riding School, styled as a collector’s apartment where architecture, design, light, and art seamlessly blend. The concept Art Instead of Ordinary Objects will present works of art not as mere decorations, but as natural components of everyday life.
