DesignBlok Selects: Project

Lasvit’s Story Told in a New Rizzoli Book

The prestigious New York publisher Rizzoli has released the book “Lasvit: The Art of Bohemian Glassmaking”, which tells the story of Czech glassmaking and almost twenty years of work by the Lasvit brand. The publication is divided into three parts (Love, Light, Glass) and maps the company’s roots in Northern Bohemia, its materials, craftsmanship techniques, and major installations, including collaborations with leading world architects and designers such as Zaha Hadid, Kengo Kuma, Bořek Šípek, and the Campana Brothers.

Visitors to this year’s DesignBlok had the opportunity to peek into the book before its official release. The background of its creation was presented by Lasvit founder Leon Jakimič in a conversation with the book’s author, Catherine Shaw, at the DesignBlok Talks conference, and the book also made an appearance at the traditional Wednesday party at Holport in Holešovice.
