Silvia Sukopova
1:1 is a collection of objects dealing with scale, with how the miniature informs the world at large. Industrially produced dollhouse miniature objects are themselves downscaled versions of everyday objects. Silvia Sukopová upscales the downscaled objects. The miniatures are scanned, upscaled, 3D printed, and assembled. The scaling is not merely a question of modification of a single parameter of a digital object. The upscaling reveals itself as a set of decisions pertaining to the realms of aesthetics, craftsmanship, technology and material science.
