Designblok, Prague International Design Festival, is the biggest selective festival of design and fashion in Central Europe. The history of Designblok goes back to 1999 when it was founded by Jana Zielinski and Jiří Macek, directors of the Profil Media agency organising the festival. As usual, Designblok shows works by designers and producers from all of Europe and presents novelties by established prestigious brands but also prototypes by young designers and designer’s studios.
Every year, the Prague design week is attended by exhibitors in the main space of Designblok, i.e. Superstudio, Openstudio, Exterior and Art House. Alongside these spaces a number of galleries, showrooms and pop-up stores in Prague open their doors and offer visitors special programme created for this occasion.
In 2020, Designblok took a number of measures, in order to maintain the maximum safety of the public. Due to these measures the attendance was strictly limited and the final number of visitors and registered VIP guests was 15, 231.
All expositions were 3D scanned and were available on the Designblok website until the end of October. During that time, 127,000 Czech and foreign visitors saw them.
