JAN PLECHÁČ&HENRY WIELGUS and Autenticita on the Manifest exhibition
At the time when Henry was yet unsure whether to become a designer, Honza had been positive about it from his early childhood. What does design mean to them? Henry: “It’s a combination of what I love to do and what earns me my living. And so, it means quite a lot.”
Jan: “Design occupies a considerable part of my life. It is something that helps me positively contribute both society and myself.” The established studio, working for as prestigious brands as Gispen, Menu, La Chance and Cappellini or Lasvit and Rossana Orlandi, cooperates with the most renowned contemporary Czech designers and has never ceased following its initial approach.
“Our Manifest motto is authenticity. The most powerful driving force in our design activities is nothing but exactly authenticity and purity, which we also perceive as a true mirror that helps us being content with what we produce. We therefore find it important to retain this aspect as
an integral part of our work and incorporate it as much as possible. Authenticity comes from the heart, which has thus become our visual symbol for this exhibition.”
