Liběna Rochová on Visuals and in Reflections

25. 9. 2013

Of course, Liběna Rochová is not depicted on posters for the autumn Designblok Premier Fashion Week in person – the model is Rozálie Havelková from Elite Model. However, the dress she is wearing was designed by Liběna Rochová. It comes from the currently sold-out collection, which won the Editors-in-Chief Award for the best collection at the spring Designblok Premier Fashion Week. Thus, it has introduced the new concept of DPFW visuals quoting the victorious collections. The photos were traditionally made by Salim Issa. At that moment, Liběna Rochová was working on the collection for the upcoming year.

“I refuse to work on collections that would have to respect trends of the given season,” claims Liběna Rochová. She buys fabrics from Jakob Schlaepfer, which fascinate her. Unique fabrics from the haute couture A/W 2014 collection from the renowned Swiss manufacturer luminesce. Future content of the new collection is determined by indescribable colors encoded into fleece and stretch thanks to reflective “paint”. “I let the character and memory of the fabric guide me,” explains the designer, who is often nicknamed as the first lady of Czech fashion. The collection consists of fourteen models. Her fashion show in the Church of St. Simon and St. Jude during Designblok Premier Fashion Week definitely ranks among the most anticipated fashion shows. Do you remember her previous collections? Homage to Glass and Memory could easily come back and shine outside of the dictate of seasons and trends. The time has come for the Reflexe – a collection with the mystery of light.
