This year is full of unexpected twists and new situations. That's why we decided to work on new features as well. One of them was the open call My Dream, which will support 33,000 drawer projects. Good ideas for which there was simply no time or money to implement. And now they will come to life at Designblok! Each of the three projects will receive a financial contribution for the implementation of CZK 33,000 and the opportunity to introduce themselves to the visitors of the 22nd Designblok directly in the monastery of St. Gabriela. The first of the fulfilled dreams is closely related to the emergency state in March, a quiet period that changed the world beyond recognition. Photographer Vojtěch Veškrna dreams of a book and an exhibition of photographs mapping the abandoned city, first-line heroes and warm meetings after the crisis. Nikola Logosová, who won the Czech Grand Design Award for best illustration in March, dreamed of the whole world. A colorful, thick atlas of the world on beautiful paper and in vibrant colors. It will show children and adults the cultural customs, differences and traditions of all countries of the world, in several editions. Thirdly, we decided to materialize the dream of Jiří Krejčiřík, who designed a project that also responds to the current situation in the field of furniture design. This is a story of a tree in the castle garden of the Veltrusy park, which fell due to weather conditions and now, together with others, has a chance to come to life again as reclaimed wood - a material for new furniture. You can look forward to all three projects in October 2020 at Designblok.
