How to Enjoy Designblok 2013?

1. 10. 2013

Here are brief instructions. There are three main spaces – the Superstudio Nákladové nádraží Žižkov – with new products from the field of interior design, lights, and accessories, plus installations by designer schools, the Icons main Designblok exhibition, and many other projects. The second space – the Openstudio Kafkův dům close to the Old Town Square – is dedicated to designers, fashion desigers, and jewelry designers. The third space – the Art House in the Colloredo-Mansfeld Palace on Karlova street – is for exhibitions on the borderline between design and art, plus you can also find the biggest foreign stars at Designblok there. You can start wherever you like. The ticket (a wristband) costs CZK 250 for adults and CZK 150 for students. Children under 15 have entry free of charge. The ticket is valid all week to all three spaces, alllowing you to come back as often as you wish.

We recommend that you start at the Nákladové nádraží Žižkov because it is the biggest venue – you will need most energy for it. Having proceeded to the center, to the Art House and the Openstudio, you can have a look at the other installations downtown – there are over fifty of them.

If you are interested primarily in fashion, we recommend that you have a look at the program of fashion shows (here) in the Church of St. Simon and St. Jude on Dušní streets. Tickets can be purchased in advance ticket sale through Ticketpro or at the Křehký gallery in Holešovice.  The Openstudio will house a pop-up shop on the weekend; fashion installations will be located mainly in the Openstudio.
