The Designer of This Year’s Main Exhibition Is Lucie Koldová
As every year, the festival’s design will thickly inhabit the spaces of the Holešovice Exhibition Grounds. Designerie – the crucial exhibition situated in the Central Hall of the Industrial Palace – will comprise of several subject circles: how we will live in the future, how will we work, play or relax. A part of the space will also be an interactive zone for children. The overall form of the central hall is the responsibility of the designer Lucie Koldová. “I decided to solve the Designerie space as an all-encompassing universe, which includes various spheres of human life and work in their actual state, and moreover without boundaries and barriers. These spheres do not merely represent product design as such; I also introduce to the results of human acts and creativity in the fields of robotics and digitalization on the one hand, and of sustainability and humanitarian help on the other hand. The aim of the Designerie concept is to show some kind of an imaginary legacy to the future generations, which we as if left behind at this moment. It is not only the very advanced technological progress, but also the responsibility towards our offspring. I think that contended future is impossible without appropriately utilized past,” Koldová explained.
